The 44 PIUS / ARTS PROJECT is aiming to rejuvenate the artist community in the South Side Slopes area of Pittsburgh PA. While they renovate over an acre of historic brick buildings neighboring the Monongahela River & South Side Marina Empty Space Project Will be documenting the entire process. Empty Space Project is a media platform designed to utilize underutilized properties or buildings under development. While the buildings are being transformed they will invite artist to the space to record their creative process and interview them about their thoughts of what’s to come from the 44 PIUS / ARTS PROJECT. This process curated by Empty Space Project will not only connect the property owners to artist, increasing community engagement, but it will also market the purpose of the artist’s work, the mission of 44 PIUS / ARTS PROJECT, and the intention behind the collaboration.
